The New York Knicks stunned the Boston Celtics, defeating the defending champs 103-100 to start the second round of the playoffs. The Knicks came back from down 20 points to steal the victory in overtime.
This game looked over in the first half. Both teams started slow, but the Celtics exploded in the second quarter and finished it with a 16-point lead. But Boston’s run relied on incredible three-point shooting from Jayson Tatum and Derrick White.
New York’s defense kicked into gear to start the third quarter. Meanwhile, OG Anunoby shot the team back within reach. Captain Clutch took over the fourth quarter, as Jalen Brunson made three three-pointers and assisted a fourth to OG. But Brunson missed a chance to win in regulation.
It looked like the Captain was out of steam in overtime, but his supporting cast picked him up. Mikal Bridges played incredible defense, OG made plays at both ends, and KAT got a putback to help New York come away victorious.
The Knicks came up big as the underdogs. Let’s discuss their incredible night.
