The New York Knicks won their second game of the season, defeating the Boston Celtics 105 to 95. Mike Brown went small, and it paid dividends.
The Knicks started slow, shooting poorly despite generating open looks. Karl-Anthony Towns gave the team a boost, but it wasn’t until the second unit hit the floor that the Knicks grabbed momentum. They started the second quarter on a run, and New York never looked back.
The Celtics responded to the smaller Knicks with physicality and a full-court press. Their pressure pushed the Knicks into a sloppy, turnover-prone half. But even with their struggles, New York never relinquished control of the action. During Boston’s last push, Jalen Brunson and KAT made clutch baskets to put the game away.
