New York Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets 124-122: Brunson comes through in the clutch
An epic Brunson-Bridges sequence seals the deal.
The New York Knicks survived to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 124 to 122. A three-pointer by Jalen Brunson with eight seconds left and a block by Mikal Bridges at the buzzer saved New York’s win.
The Knicks looked like they would cruise to victory early. They steadily built a lead through each of the first three quarters. Cam Thomas exploded for 43 points to keep the game from getting out of reach, but New York led by 18 points entering the fourth quarter regardless.
But the Knicks’ fourth-quarter woes are a continuing pattern. OG Anunoby scuffled with Dorian Finney-Smith and fouled out shortly after. The Knicks' defense collapsed after that, giving up 40 points to Brooklyn in the fourth alone. The Nets took a one-point lead as the end of the quarter approached.
That’s when Jalen Brunson saved the day with a game-winning three. Let’s check out the big moments and performances.
