The New York Knicks kicked off the 25-26 season with a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 119-111. The Knicks are visibly different under Mike Brown, and this was a promising first impression.
The Knicks kicked things off with a quick pace and effective defense on everyone but Evan Mobley in the first half. The Cavs stuck close, but New York built a double-digit lead behind a quick start for Mikal Bridges and balanced scoring throughout the rotation.
Donovan Mitchell kicked off the second half in superstar mode, nearly outscoring the Knicks by himself in the third quarter. But New York’s depth shone in the fourth quarter, as a combination of OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns with the second unit started a run that gave New York a lead it would never surrender.
The Knicks looked good, and Mike Brown used 11 players despite missing Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson. Let’s have a look at some individual efforts.
