The New York Knicks are NBA Cup champions after defeating the San Antonio Spurs 124-113. The Knicks trailed after each of the first three quarters but shut San Antonio down in the fourth quarter to win by double-digits.

The Cup Final looked like a heavyweight fight through three quarters. San Antonio’s guards wreaked havoc, with Stephon Castle getting to the paint consistently while De’Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper hit big threes. But the Knicks fought back with OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson leading the way as scorers.

For those first three quarters, it felt like San Antonio was a step away from breaking the game open. They pressed their leads, while New York scrambled back each time. But the Knicks’ second unit sparked a huge run to end the third and start the fourth quarter. The starters, along with Tyler Kolek, closed the show down the stretch with clutch plays at both ends.

New York sent a message to the league that the East isn’t full of pushovers this season. Let’s revisit the Cup win through the standout performers.
