The New York Knicks beat the Atlanta Hawks by historical margins to finish off their first-round series, winning 140-89. It’s the perfect way for New York to carry momentum in a second-round matchup with Boston or Philadelphia.

This game was only close for the first 20 points scored. The Knicks trailed the Hawks 11-9 before taking over and completing the most dominant half of basketball in playoff history. The best part is that OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges led the way in scoring, while Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns combined for 18 assists.

The third quarter started with New York up 83-36, and went on an 18-4 run led by Mikal Bridges. Both teams’ cleanup crews entered before the fourth quarter started, and the rest of the half saw Atlanta fighting to get within 50 points.

The Hawks asked for this matchup, benching their starters even though they could have taken a higher seed to end the season. The Knicks embarrassed them on their home court twice as payback.

Let’s celebrate the win with a review of the performances.
