The New York Knicks played their best basketball of the Eastern Conference Finals, beating the Indiana Pacers 111-94. The Knicks led from wire to wire, driven by sharp defense and unstoppable offense from their stars. The Knicks trail 2-3 in the series, but this felt like a momentum shift for New York.
New York set the tone early with more pressure on ball-handlers and better ball-denial. Jalen Brunson sparked the offense by scoring the first six points of the game and throwing an alley-oop next. The Knicks’ defense intensified when the second unit came in, and Karl-Anthony Towns picked up as soon as Brunson sat for a rest.
The Knicks led by 11 points at halftime, and Mitchell Robinson’s defense helped them build on their lead further in the third quarter. That lead ballooned to as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter. Any push from Indiana was met with an equally strong response from New York. Rick Carlisle waved the white flag with 2:44 left in the game.
The win took contributions from every Knick who took the floor. Let’s discuss the victory through their performances.
