The New York Knicks eliminated the Detroit Pistons from the playoffs in the most poetic way imaginable. Jalen Brunson, the Clutch Player of the Year, hit a game-winning three to send New York into the second round of the playoffs.
The Knicks started strong, blitzing Detroit to take a double-digit lead for most of the first quarter. But New York’s offense stagnated, and Malik Beasley exploded from three to push Detroit into a lead at halftime.
The second half started similarly, as New York built a double-digit lead before slowing down again. The Knicks gave up a 20-2 run and trailed by seven points with 2:35 to go before Jalen Brunson went into clutch mode.
Brunson scored eight of New York’s final eleven points, including the game winner with five seconds left. The Captain sealed the victory.
Let’s look at the standouts from this fantastic game.
