The New York Knicks got crushed by the Boston Celtics 131-104. Boston showed up with something to prove and left the Garden with a message delivered. The East still runs through Boston.

The Knicks started the game off casually, while Boston attacked immediately. Boston pinched defenders in off Josh Hart and Precious Achiuwa, which limited attacks from Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. The Knicks trailed by double digits before they even got into the flow of things.

New York trailed by 13 starting the third quarter. But a scoring flurry from Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges cut Boston’s lead to six points. That’s when Jayson Tatum took over. Tatum did what stars do, knocking down shot after shot to bury the Knicks on their home court.

This is a tough loss, but the Knicks can’t rest on their laurels. Let’s explore the results through player contributions.
