The New York Knicks gave up home-court advantage, losing to the Detroit Pistons 100-94. The Knicks trailed for most of the action, but fought back from a thirteen-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force a tie game in the last two minutes of action. But a timely three from Dennis Schroder gave Detroit the separation it needed to tie the round one series 1-1.
The Pistons’ defense took over the night. New York only scored 18 points in the first and third quarters of the game. The Knicks fought back late by pushing Detroit into foul trouble, but they had already dug a hole too deep to escape.
New York showed poise to close the gap late, but they were outhustled and outplayed. Let’s look back at the tough night for the Knicks.
