The New York Knicks couldn’t keep up with the Golden State Warriors, losing 114-102. Without Karl-Anthony Towns, the Knicks’ three-point attack was neutered, leaving them susceptible to zone defense.
The Knicks started well enough, containing the Warriors through two quarters. Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby carried the offense en route to an eight-point lead at the half.
But Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler kicked into gear in the third quarter. Golden State forced the ball out of Brunson’s hands, which stagnated New York’s offense. Before long, the Warriors held a comfortable lead, and the Knicks couldn’t get enough stops to mount a comeback.
New York’s poor spacing and shooting spelled doom in this matchup. Let’s look at the individuals and how their performances were affected.
