REPORT: Deuce McBride missed Saturday’s game against the Washington Wizards with a groin injury. Per KFTV’s CP The Fanchise, he is likely to miss “multiple games.”

The guard is averaging 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. With Jalen Brunson out, Deuce McBride has served as the Knicks’ starting point guard. He struggled against Charlotte on Thursday, the second half of a back-to-back, likely in part due to the injury.

With McBride out, Tyler Kolek has been inserted into the rotation, and Cam Payne has now been promoted into the starting lineup. In last night’s game against the Wizards, Kolek recorded 4 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals, an encouraging game from the floor general taken #34 overall in the 2024 draft.

Could this be Tyler Kolek’s opportunity to assert himself as an NBA player? Knicks fans hope so. He averaged 18.0 points and 9.8 assists in four G-League games. Similar to Deuce McBride’s journey, this March could serve as Kolek’s chance to earn Tom Thibodeau’s trust in the big leagues moving forward.
