Ah, yes, the home stretch. The last leg. The final phase. However you decide to phrase the last remaining weeks of the NBA regular season, the New York Knicks are quietly approaching the end of a rather up-and-down 2025-26.
Whether it was starting the season 9-6 or winning the NBA Emirates Cup, New York has remained tough throughout 69 games. But we’re not here to talk about what fans already know, but instead focus on what is to come, at least in the next 12 games.
Mike Brown and the Knicks face quite the daunting task ahead of themselves: just 1.5 games behind the Boston Celtics for the #2 seed, and 5.5 games before they can reach the recent Cade Cunningham-less Detroit Pistons.
These next 12 games shouldn’t just be a test for New York, but instead an opportunity to twist those screws extra tight and polish their shoes extra shiny. Five of their opponents hold a record below .500, six games will be inside MSG, and seven games will be broadcast nationally. Some narratives might be thrown around too loosely, while others will be under a fine microscope.
That’s not up to us, but instead, up to you, the KFTV fans.
