We asked Knicks fans 10 questions about the upcoming season. Here’s what you said:

1. Predict the Knicks’ 2025-26 regular season record

We received 17 different answers, with the average and most popular one being a 55-27 record, a four-win increase from the 2024-25 season. The head coach change and improved bench provides confidence that the team will be better. But, most believe the Knicks aren’t a 60-win team yet like the Thunder, Celtics, and Cavs were last year.

2. What seed will the Knicks finish with?

The #1 seed in the Eastern Conference will be most likely a two-team race between New York and Cleveland, though a few fans believe another team will sneak in there ahead of the Knicks.

3. Which team in the East poses the biggest threat to the Knicks?

That aforementioned mystery team could be either the Atlanta Hawks or Orlando Magic. Both franchises made significant moves this summer (Kristaps Porzingis and Desmond Bane, respectively) to build around their homegrown stars.

Not much love for the Detroit Pistons (8 votes), who gave the Knicks a tough first-round series, or the Milwaukee Bucks (5 votes), who have the best player in the conference.

4. Is this season "championship or bust"?

About 93% of voters believe it wouldn’t be enough to make the Eastern Conference Finals. But from there, the voters differ in expectation. A little less than a third of fans believe the Knicks must win a ring in 2026 for the season to be a success. And that’s completely fair, since this is the franchise’s best chance this millennium.

5. If the Knicks make the Finals, which of these contenders in the West would they have the best chance against?

New York is 5-1 against Denver in the Brunson era. Although just 3-3 in that same span against Minnesota, the potential storylines would make for an entertaining series.

Meanwhile, fans generally want to avoid OKC and Houston’s relentless defenses. Can Mike Brown’s new offense overcome their physicality? Time will tell if it will need to.

6. How many all-stars will the Knicks have?

Assuming health, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns are sure-fire All-Stars to most people. Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby have looked good in the Knicks’ new offense this preseason; one of them could sneak into a reserve spot. Given the state of the East, it wouldn’t surprise me if Mitchell Robinson was given All-Star consideration, too, in a similar fashion to Jarrett Allen or Rudy Gobert.

7. Which Knick is most likely to be traded by the deadline?

Malcolm Brogdon, Landry Shamet, and Garrison Matthews have all made their cases for the remaining veteran minimum spot so far this preseason. As a result, Tyler Kolek has felt like the natural odd man out given the logjam at his position. Two pieces of news have come recently on this topic:

Pacome Dadiet has become a trade candidate with the sensible intrigue in his size, age, and potential to grow as an NBA wing. While many voted for Deuce McBride, it appears the Knicks believe in him as a championship piece, at least for now.

Mitchell Robinson will remain in mock trades until he signs a contract extension. And Josh Hart’s play this season, particularly with the injured finger, could determine his fate; while he is Jalen Brunson’s best friend, he’s also a $19 million player for a championship contending team right underneath the apron ceiling.

8. Who should be the fifth starter with Brunson, Mikal, OG, and KAT?

Over 2/3 of voters are in agreement with Coach Brown’s preseason decisions thus far. Mitchell Robinson has looked good in the starting lineup, providing rebounding, rim protection, and even some increased offensive activity.

9. Which young player will make the biggest impact this season?

If Mitchell Robinson starts games and sits during back-to-backs, Ariel Hukporti could have an important role providing bench minutes at center. His short-roll scoring, connective passing, rebounding, and defense put him ahead of Kolek and Dadiet in terms of NBA readiness. The biggest concern remains his ability to play without fouling.

10. Who will lead the Knicks in total 3PTs made this season?

It might surprise you that OG Anunoby led the 2024-25 Knicks in total threes made with 171, followed by Mikal Bridges (164), Jalen Brunson (152), and Karl-Anthony Towns (142). Coach Brown’s offense should generate more off-ball, spot-up opportunities for all four players. When factoring in health as well, this race should turn out to be competitive down the stretch. Hopefully, this season’s winner eclipses 200.
