The New York Knicks took down the Miami Heat in a game that featured absolutely no defense, 140-132. This looked nothing like the rivalry games of the ’90s or 2010s, but it was still a lot of fun.
The Knicks began the night missing Jalen Brunson, and OG Anunoby left them more shorthanded after five minutes. But Karl-Anthony Towns took over the first half and helped the Knicks build a lead. New York periodically deployed zone defense that helped it make runs, and when the Heat responded with their own zone, the Knicks’ shooters went off.
The second half had a surprise standout in Landry Shamet, who, along with Josh Hart and Jordan Clarkson, turned the second unit’s minutes into a knockout punch.
