The Knicks remain undefeated in the preseason after beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 100-95. The team showed off their new pace with 57 attempts from three, and despite poor shooting, many of the looks were open.
Both teams brought more intensity than a typical preseason game. New York’s pace and ball movement looked great, though there were sloppy passes and offense dry spells scattered throughout. The Knicks also defended well as a team, especially when Mitchell Robinson patrolled the paint.
But poor shooting and sloppy turnovers meant New York trailed slightly when the starters left the game. Mike Brown showed off his bench depth again, as the second unit took a lead and the third unit closed the game in overtime.
This season already feels refreshing. The offense has more movement for both the players and the ball. Mike Brown has experimented with his rotation more in three games than Tom Thibodeau did all of last season. Let’s look at how some mainstays fared and review the victory.
